Betfair takes “fresh approach” with new ad campaign
Operator’s “Ready?” campaign focuses on sport rather than “laddish humour”
Betfair has launched a new ad campaign based on anticipation around sport and designed to separate the operator from the “laddish humour” associated with the industry.
The “Ready?” campaign kicked off on Sunday with a 60-second TV advert during the FA Community Shield.
The ad depicts a sports training montage, similar to Nike and UnderArmour campaigns, and features a voiceover based on a quote by the legendary boxer Jack Dempsey on what it takes to be a champion.
“A champion is someone who is ready when the gong rings,” the voiceover says. “Not before. Not after. But when it rings. Ready?”
Gloryhunter signs Betfred as official betting partner
Start-up football app developer Gloryhunter has signed an exclusive betting partnership deal with UK bookmaker Betfred.
The agreement will enable Gloryhunter players to view odds from Betfred for every match and win monthly points and prizes from the operator
“Having one of UK’s most trusted and experienced gaming brands behind us is incredible,” Gloryhunter’s Richard Hague said.
“We have big plans for growth this upcoming season and Betfred’s backing will allow us to achieve this,” he added.
Gloryhunter was launched last year by Hague, Stuart Kay and Richard Blake, and enables players to select any team in the English league and player with friends and fans across the world.

William Hill seals Chelsea FC betting partnership deal
William Hill has signed a three-year deal to become Chelsea’s new official betting partner, the bookmaker confirmed last week.
As part of the agreement, which runs until the 2018-19 season, Hills will have a presence across the Premier League club’s digital assets and pitch-side advertising at Stamford Bridge. It will also provide betting services both online and inside the ground on matchdays.
The bookmaker replaces BetVictor as the club’s betting partner, and follows Hills’ agreement with Tottenham Hotspur announced earlier this week.
Unibet to roll-out revamped poker client
Unibet is to launch a new version of its standalone poker platform in the coming weeks as the operator looks to build on its recent success within the floundering vertical.
The second iteration of its poker client was developed in collaboration with long-term partner Relax Gaming, with updates to include a UX redesign, a bonus shop and expanded challenges.
In 2013, the operator took the decision to leave Microgaming’s MPN network in favour of launching a new casual player-focused standalone poker product in partnership with the Estonia-based supplier.
The Ritz Club to launch Evolution-powered live casino
London’s The Ritz Club has partnered with Evolution Gaming to launch a new online live casino product exclusive to its members later this year.
As part of the agreement, the land-based casino will initially integrate the provider’s Dual Play Roulette, which will be located in the Club’s principal gaming salon.
In addition, a new online service exclusive to The Ritz Club members will include VIP roulette, VIP blackjack, baccarat squeeze and three card poker tables hosted from Evolution’s studios in Riga.
FanDuel makes international debut with UK launch
Daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator FanDuel has expanded its presence beyond the North American market for the first time with the launch of a new UK product.
The firm’s one-day fantasy football platform was debuted in the UK last week on both web and mobile in time for the start of the new season, and will initially be focused on the English Premier League.
And as revealed by eGaming Review in May, the product was built by the same UK-based team that developed its US-facing platform, and features single day or weekend contests, instant scoring updates and Opta-powered stats.
Football Pools to introduce live betting tournaments
Sportech-operated The Football Pools has agreed a deal to launch Commologic’s second screen live betting game BetUp.
BetUp will be integrated into footballpools.com this week ahead of the new Premier League season which kicks off on Saturday.
The game, which is already live with Unibet, sees customers enter into live tournaments which are won by answering predictive questions during a match, such as which team will win the next throw-in. The last man standing takes home the tournament prize pool.
BetStars nets partnership with Premier League champs Leicester City
Amaya-owned BetStars has become Leicester City’s official European betting partner for the club’s first season as defending Premier League champions.
As part of the deal, the operator will have an in-stadium presence at all of the club’s domestic fixtures, as well as its Champions League fixtures.
BetStars is running a promotion that will give 50 customers the chance to win a £1 bet on the Foxes retaining its Premier League title at odds of 5000/1 â the same price famously given at the start of last season to win the league.
Tatts Group confirms Intralot acquisition talks
Melbourne-based Tatts Group has confirmed the operator is in “exclusive” discussions with Intralot to acquire the supplier’s Australian and New Zealand businesses.
In a statement released last week, Tatts said the companies had been in discussions for “some time” as part of a deal worth between AU$90 (£51m) and $100m (£56.8m), according to Australian news outlets.
“These discussions have advanced to a confirmatory due diligence stage and Intralot has agreed to conduct this process on an exclusive basis with Tatts,” the operator said.
Coral seals Derby County betting partnership deal
Coral has signed a three-year deal with Derby County to become the club’s new official betting and gaming partner.
As part of the deal, which runs until the end of the 2018-19 season, the bookmaker will offer a cash betting service at the Championship side’s iPro Stadium on matchdays.
Coral will also offer Derby fans and visitors of the club’s digital channels its full betting opportunities.
Betsson follows Betfair with Red Tiger Gaming deal
Betsson has agreed a new partnership with software developer Red Tiger Gaming to roll out a selection of its games from the Isle of Man-based supplier.
The launch includes Red Tiger Gaming slots Lucky Wizard and Winter Wonders, which were recently adapted for Betfair to include a unique jackpot feature during the Euros, as well as Asian-themed Dragon’s Luck.
A number of other titles including slots Blue Diamond and Five Star, table games and additional content will follow in the coming months.
