Unibet to roll-out revamped poker client
Operator aims to build on recent strong revenue growth from the vertical with new version of its standalone poker platform
Unibet is to launch a new version of its standalone poker platform in the coming weeks as the operator looks to build on its recent success within the floundering vertical.
The second iteration of its poker client was developed in collaboration with long-term partner Relax Gaming, with updates to include a UX redesign, a bonus shop and expanded challenges.
In 2013, the operator took the decision to leave Microgaming’s MPN network in favour of launching a new casual player-focused standalone poker product in partnership with the Estonia-based supplier.
The product is targeted largely at the casual end of the player spectrum and includes 3D backgrounds, the ability to change avatar and screen name, achievements and missions, as well as disabling HUDs, scripts and all table selections.
Unibet has reported strong growth from the vertical since launching its Relax Gaming-powered client, with revenues from poker increasing 37% year-on-year in Q2 2016 and 45% in Q1.
Year-to-date revenues for poker were up 41% to £5.8m compared to last year.
“We’re looking forward to showing the world what we’ve been working on, but more importantly, we’re looking forward to improving our client for our players,” Unibet’s head of poker, Andrew West, said.
“After the success of our first client, the new release will change the industry once again,” he added.
The Stockholm-listed firm will officially unveil the revamped product during the upcoming Unibet Open in Copenhagen at the end of this month.
