Playtech to link betting shops with online accounts
New system, launched initially with Coral, will allow users to start playing in-store and continue online or on mobile
Sportsbook operator Coral is set to launch a new system linking its UK-based retail fixed-odds betting terminals (FOBTs) with players’ online accounts through a deal with software supplier Playtech, eGaming Review has learned.
The system, which is due to be launched later this year, will enable players to place a bet via a terminal in-store and have winnings paid into their online account rather than cashing out in person.
Gala Coral’s sportsbetting brand Coral will be the first to benefit from the project, and other Playtech licensees are anticipated to follow later this year, according to an eGR source.
New-look Paddy Power site goes live
Paddy Power’s core sports betting site has undergone a visual overhaul bringing it in line with the operator’s new corporate identity.
The Irish operator unveiled plans to roll out a new logo and branding across the whole company in December last year, which it said would better reflect its image as a “mischief-maker”.
To date, retail outlets and standalone mobile gaming apps including Roller and Vegas have been rebranded in a staggered approach, with the dot.com site given the update this week.

BlueBat launches social gamification engine
Independent studio BlueBat Games has announced the release of its new developer-centric gamification engine to help casinos and egaming developers socialise their content on multiple platforms.
The Vancouver-based company claims its platform-agnostic BlueBox Engine increases player engagement via social gamification strategies and mechanics, adding social features to online gambling games to reach more users and has already been integrated into social casino network GoPlay.
188Bet launches with Quickfire mobile suite
Isle of Man-licensed operator 188Bet has gone live with a suite of more than 30 mobile slots titles from Quickfire.
The deal extends the firm’s relationship with the Microgaming-powered software provider, which already includes a Flash casino and live dealer content. The relationship dates back to 2011, and the new deal will see the operator take on mobile slot titles including Thunderstruck and Tomb Raider.
Tabcorp completes Tab Active acquisition
Former Australian monopoly Tabcorp has acquired television wagering service Tab Active from casino operator Donaco International for AU$863,000.
The service links to Sky racing channels through a Foxtel TV subscription and allows users to place bets on horse racing using their remote control. Bets will be able to be staked by users in all Australian states except Tasmania.
Betradar launches virtual horse racing platform
Sports data provider Betradar has released its new virtual sports betting product Virtual Horse Classics (VHC), providing online operators with a virtual horse racing platform.
The hosted front-end is fully customisable and provides real money betting on virtual horse races. Each race simulation uses the latest Artificial Intelligence, with a new race starting every three minutes on average.
EGASA launches live roulette with Evolution
EGASA has become the latest operator to launch a dot.es live dealer roulette offering via a partnership with Evolution Gaming.
The product will also go live on the Spanish operator’s luckia.es desktop site in a three-year deal with software provider Evolution. EGASA joins the likes of 888 and Grupo Orenes in bringing a live roulette offering to the regulated Spanish egaming market.
GameAccount signs Reel Time Gaming deal
Gaming software supplier GameAccount Network has partnered with land-based slot games developer Reel Time Gaming in a multi-year deal.
Brisbane-based Reel Time Gaming is best known for its slot games such as ‘Eye of Horus’, popular in the German land-based market, and will provide games through GameAccount’s Internet Gaming System to operators in regulated European markets including Italy and the UK.
Bet-at-home extends tennis sponsorship deal until 2015
The ATP Tennis tournament in Hamburg will continue to be sponsored by bet-at-home until 2015 after the Betclic Everest subsidiary extended its deal with the tournament’s marketer Hamburg Sports and Entertainment.
The operator, which also sponsors German football team FC Schalke 04, is reported to have struck a deal worth 400,000 a year to sponsor the ATP Hamburg tournament until 2015. Its involvement with the event dates back to 2011.
Microgaming adds new multiplayer tournaments
Microgaming has increased its number of multi-player games with the addition of two new tournament slots, Leagues of Fortune and Karate Pig.
“In recognition of the growing popularity of community-based gaming, we are expanding our multi-player platform to ensure we deliver the most diverse multi-player experience to our operators’ players,” spokesman David Reynolds said.
Martial arts themed ‘Karate Pig’ will operate midweek 3-day tournaments with a prize pool of $2,000 to be shared amongst the top ten players whilst ‘Leagues of Fortunes’ is themed around sending players on deep sea explorations.
The Isle of Man-based software company won three awards at the eGaming Review B2B Awards last month, including Innovation in RNG casino software.
isoftbet has launched its latest branded slot, based on martial arts star Bruce Lee. The five-reel slot has 243 individual winning combinations, and has already been taken on by a number of the software provider’s customers.
