PokerStars launches Spanish casino, withdraws from grey markets
Poker giant launches blackjack and roulette to players in Spain while exiting from a number of predominately Asian markets
PokerStars launched its first casino products on its Spanish platform last week in what is expected to be the first step of a wider push into the casino vertical.
The Amaya-owned site added blackjack and roulette games, which were developed in-house, to its dot.es site in a move that is PokerStars first venture outside of its core poker product.
“We know that many of our customers are enjoying online casino games on competing platforms and our offering will enhance their experience with PokerStars and provide a safe, trusted and convenient way for them to be entertained,” Gino Appiotti, PokerStars president of Southern Europe, said.
“PokerStars aims to remain as the number one poker operator in Spain and strongly believes that in this market, adding casino games is the best way to serve players,” he added.
BetButler customer database and debts sold for £1
Curacao-based company Momaco has completed the acquisition of BetButler’s customer database for £1 as part of a strategy to launch a British-facing B2C product in the coming months.
Financially stricken brokerage firm BetButler recently ceased trading ahead of a potential sale and Momaco spokesperson Mark Craig told eGaming Review his firm had now completed the acquisition for the nominal fee.
Approximately 68,000 customers have been transferred to Momaco and the company has pledged to refund all customers owed money by BetButler in full, although Craig disputed the reported £500,000 figure alleged to be outstanding.

Bwin scores hat-trick of Italy media deals
Bwin has signed deals with TV stations Sky Calcio and Mediasat Premium to host a number of betting-focused football segments as it looks to ramp up “visibility” for its Italy-facing sportsbook brand.
The operator, which is currently vying for market leading status in Italy alongside Paddy Power and William Hill, will host a slot within Sky Calcio’s Sky Soccer Show every Saturday and Sunday.
The segment, which will be fronted by TV presenter and actress Francesca Belussi, will detail bwin’s odds for forthcoming matches in Italy’s top football divisions as well as review midweek price movements.
Winner launches new bingo site
Playtech-run operator Winner has launched a revamped version of its bingo platform including a new desktop site and updated mobile product.
Winner Bingo has undergone a complete visual redesign, as well as a new logo and additional side games, on the company’s dot.com platform.
The new version of the mobile app was also launched including similar features to the desktop site, in the app’s first major update on mobile since it first launched last year.
Mexico’s Caliente launches Playtech-powered online casino
Mexican land-based casino operator Caliente has launched a new online casino through a content deal with software giant Playtech.
The Caliente.mx site has been launched for Mexico-based customers and features Playtech’s suite of casino and slots games, as well as a live casino product.
Playtech’s Vegas product suite has been made available under a separate tab, while a mobile version of the desktop site has also been launched.
Boylesports signs 1m horse racing media deal
Boylesports has struck an exclusive multi-platform deal to sponsor Irish media company RTÃ’s entire horse racing coverage with the bookmaker investing a “seven-figure” sum to secure the contract.
The two-year agreement, which was announced on Monday, will see Boylesports feature prominently across all RTÃ racing coverage on TV, radio and online at RTÃ.ie.
As part of the deal, RTÃ and Boylesports will develop “innovative integrations” between live television and mobile applications to assist viewers watching racing while multi-tasking through mobile devices.
Titanbet.co.uk kicks-off major UK marketing drive
Titanbet.co.uk has signed its first UK horseracing sponsorship deal with The Jockey Club Racecourses at Kempton Park as it pushes forward with plans to gain market share in the soon-to-be re-regulated British market.
Under the deal Titanbet.co.uk, which is powered by Playtech subsidiary PT Entertainment Services, will sponsor three twilight race meetings in October and November, with account holders gaining free access to the each of the events. Race-goers will also receive sign-up offers and money-back promotions.
The agreement marks Titanbet’s first major marketing deal since it announced it was to migrate its British-based customers onto its new Titanbet.co.uk site as part of the its plan to obtain a licence for the country’s new regulatory regime.
Leander Games strikes casino partnership with Paddy Power
Leander Games has signed a partnership deal with Paddy Power which will see the Irish bookmaker receive in-house and third-party games from the Buenos Aires-based online slots supplier.
Under the deal, Paddy Power has integrated Leander’s LeGa remote game server into its online casino platform, which includes slots titles such as Zombie Rush, Little Pigs, and Secrets of the Tomb.
The LeGa platform hosts Leander slots as well as third-party games from the likes of Blueprint, Genesis, Quickspin, Nektan and MX Digital.
Genesis launches new video slot
Genesis Gaming has announce the dual release of its latest video slot Robyn on the Quickfire network from today (8 October) simultaneously in both Flash and HTML5.
The 5-reel, All Pays (243 Way) video slot is named after its sharp shooting and fearless lead character Robyn and features rich graphics, animated characters and a lively soundtrack.
“We recognise mobile is a hugely significant growth area for our partners and that dual release is necessary to ensure greater marketing and operations efficiency,” Geoff Hansen, managing director of Genesis, said.
