William Hill launches new iPad app
Bookmaker adds to mobile offering with iPad-specific application.
William Hill has further expanded its mobile betting business with the launch of a new iPad application.
The release follows the success of the UK bookmaker’s successful mobile app which has been downloaded more than half a million times since being released in February, the company said in a statement.
The app is the fifth to be launched as part of Hill’s mobile offering, alongside William Hill Mobile, Casino Club, Shake-A-Bet and a virtual sports betting app for iPhone released last month.
Hills was also among the first operators to release a bingo app powered by the Playtech-owned Virtue Fusion software in August.
Bets placed on mobile apps now account for around 30% of all William Hill’s overall online betting.
Juergen Reutter, director of mobile for William Hill, said of the launch: “Mobile betting is booming, with more customers using our service as a second screen solution to watch sport at home or on the move. We anticipate the service becoming even more popular over the festive period and are sure the simple, easy and convenient functionality of the app will become a favourite way for many of our customers to bet.”
