Scientific Games recruits former OPAP advisor
Kevin Anderson will oversee business development, including online gaming, for EMEA region.
Scientific Games has appointed former OPAP advisor Kevin Anderson as its new vice-president of international business development for the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Having been responsible for managing Greek monopoly OPAP’s 2bn sports betting business for more than six years, Anderson will now focus on expanding Scientific Games’ lottery business, including instant tickets, lottery systems, video lottery systems and interactive gaming.
His appointment is intended to further strengthen the lottery and gaming specialist’s global presence and enhance the execution of its growth initiatives, the company said in a statement.
Mike Conforti, senior vice-president, international business development at Scientific Games, said: “The addition of Kevin Anderson to our core team brings us a seasoned business executive with over 25 years of lottery and gaming experience in the region.
“We are committed to growing our presence across Europe, the Middle East and Africa and are confident that Kevin’s business acumen, reputation and relationships within the industry will provide significant value to Scientific Games.”
This is the second time Anderson has worked for Scientific Games, having worked as vice-president of business development EMEA from 2003 to 2006.
He represents the second addition to Scientific Games in the past month, with Robert White as chief operating officer of its gaming division in August. White retains his existing responsibility for the development of the gaming division’s overall business strategy, including its social media and merger and acquisition strategy, while also taking on responsibility for content and product development, yield management and corporate marketing.
Meanwhile July saw Michael Koch named managing director of international business for the division, while Gareth Philips was appointed to the role of chief technology officer (CTO).
