Scientific Games appoints new gaming division COO
Former IGT veteran Robert White takes responsibility of division's content and product development.
Scientific Games has announced the appointment of Robert White as chief operating officer of its gaming division.
White had been group strategy director of Scientific Games’ gaming division since October 2011. Prior to joining Scientific Games he spend 12 years at IGT, including most recently as VP & managing director of IGT UK, leading the sale of the games supplier’s Barcrest subsidiary to Scientific Games.
He will retain his existing responsibility for the development of the gaming division’s overall business strategy, including its social media and merger and acquisition strategy, while also taking on responsibility for content and product development, yield management and corporate marketing.
White said in a statement: “I am excited about the future of the gaming division, as new forms of game content and technology provide the opportunity to continue to innovate within an already well-established and diverse group offering.”
Ian Timmis, CEO of the company’s gaming division, added: “Robert has impressive business experience, including his successful career at IGT. He has been an integral part of the senior management team since the Barcrest acquisition and in this new leadership role is ideally positioned to contribute to the continued success of the gaming division.”
White’s appointment is the third in as many weeks in Scientific Games’ gaming division, which includes The Global Draw, Barcrest and Games Media.
Last month saw Michael Koch named managing director of international business for the division, while Gareth Philips was appointed to the role of chief technology officer (CTO).
