OpenBet appoints new HR chief
Doreena Ross (pictured) will be responsible for implementing HR operational plans to support business growth
Sportsbook and gaming software supplier OpenBet has announced the appointment of a new vice-president of human resources, a move it hopes will boost talent recruitments and increase employee engagement.
Doreena Ross, who has already started her role, has previously held senior roles in HR and people development within the software industry, including at International Business Systems (IBS), Interwoven (now known as HP Autonomy) and Sybase.
Ross will be responsible for defining, and the implementation of, OpenBet’s key initiatives which are aimed at recruiting the best talent and supporting the development of existing staff members, OpenBet said in a statement.
She will also be responsible for staff engagement schemes to ensure employees are “focused on the needs of customers and delivering OpenBet’s long-term business plan”.
“Every organisation’s success depends on the decisions you make around people: who you recruit; how you reward performance; development of your talent; and retention are all crucial to organisational performance,” said Jeremy Thompson-Hill, CEO of OpenBet.
“The strategy of OpenBet is underpinned by a real dedication to equipping our staff to achieve their potential and to recruit the best, and the right, talent. [Ross’] appointment is a key part in our development and will be an integral part in planning, enabling and facilitating our continued growth.”
The news follows last month’s appointment of digital marketing veteran Joe Eldridge to the newly-created role of chief product officer.
Eldridge joins OpenBet from Amazon next month and will take responsibility for the company’s core product strategy and driving product innovation.
