Oddschecker: Grand National helps BetVictor reclaim third spot
Betfair reopens gap at top after high interest around the US Masters
BetVictor’s decision to pay out six places on last month’s Grant National helped the operator claim more than 10% of UK market clicks in April and reclaim third place in the Oddschecker Top 10.
The Gibraltar licensee leapfrogged Paddy Power, opening up a gap of more than one percentage point on the Irish firm. Paddys was ranked just seventh for punters placing win bets, and was unable to benefit from being the only sportsbook not to suffer an outage during the Aintree festival.
At the top, Betfair stretched its lead over bet365 to 1.25% with its overall 18.85% market share coming largely off the back of a strong showing during the US Masters golf major, while Paddy Power also claimed more than 10% of market clicks for golf.
The only other movement came in the bottom half of the table, with Stan James supplanting Coral in sixth spot after the latter slipped back following its Cheltenham Festival offers in March.
