New VP of sales for OpenBet retail
Tim Kennedy, who arrives from Barcrest, has been involved in the gambling industry for more than a decade.
OpenBet’s retail arm OpenBet retail has appointed former Barcrest sales and commercial director Tim Kennedy as its new VP of sales.
His main task will be to manage the roll-out of the software-only solution OpenBetPromote and liaise with major customers on the retail side of operations.
Data and pictures supplier SIS has also been given clearance by OpenBet to re-sell the product under the SISPromote banner to small overseas bookmakers as well as the independent LBO market in the UK and Ireland.
OpenBet continues to position itself strategically as a pure-play technology company, marked by the accompanying announcement that its retail bureau is to cease operations and thus bring to an end the provider’s hosted services.
Chief executive David Loveday said: “Today’s announcement marks another step on our journey to become the pure play technology company in the international gaming sector. The retail division is, and always will be, an integral part of OpenBet’s offering and Tim’s appointment is a clear sign of our commitment.”
The company brought in a new sales director in December, Amanda Bicknell arriving from Microsoft, following on from Google veteran Nikos Kryvossidis’ appointment as SVP technology in June.
Kennedy, who also previously spent two years as network products director for Gamestec, said: “OpenBet continually looks at new ways to innovate and develop the products that it brings to existing and potential customers. As the retail market quickly evolves, OpenBet, with its Promote product, a strong pipeline and the right choice of partners, is ideally placed to shape how it might look in the future.
