Interactive growth as Camelot crosses £40bn payout threshold
Interactive and subscriptions sales now make up 15.7% of company total.
UK National Lottery operator Camelot has seen its interactive and subscriptions sales increase by 39% year-on-year, the company has revealed in its results for the six months ended 24 September.
The increase, up to £513.7m in H1 2011 compared to £369.2m in the corresponding period in 2010, means the company’s interactive and subscription arms constitute 15.7% of its half-yearly revenues.
Total sales over the period rose 19.9% to £3.26bn, while the operator has now paid out more than £40bn in prize money since launching the National Lottery in 1994.
Earlier this year Camelot brought in Alex Kovach, former head of international and mobile at Ladbrokes, as its MD of global services, while former HR Owen CEO Andy Duncan arrived as MD of UK operations last month.
