Betfair sports ops director Hagen departs
Nick Hagen is replaced by Colm Sevastopulo after more than three years in role
Betfair’s sports operations director Nick Hagen has left the firm after more than three years in the role.
Hagen joined Betfair in December 2011 to oversee trading operations and Betfair’s risk-based strategy which coincided with the operator launching a fixed-odds sportsbook for the first time.
He was previously at GTECH G2 where he spent three years as director of sports betting and a year as COO of the supplier’s sportsbook business.
eGaming Review understands Hagen’s decision to leave Betfair was based on personal reasons. He has since moved back to the UK from Dublin where the role had been based since mid-2012.
Hagen is replaced by Colm Sevastopulo who joined Betfair in April last year having headed up Paddy Power’s B2B operations for almost five years.
Betfair’s sportsbook and exchange business posted a 16% increase in revenues to £76.7m during Q3, helping total EBITDA and net revenue grow 17% and 20% respectively.
