Bet365 to sponsor French Open TV coverage
Egaming operator secures six-figure deal covering ITV's television broadcasts of the Grand Slam tournament.
Bet365 will sponsor ITV’s coverage of the upcoming French Open tennis after signing a six-figure deal with the broadcaster.
The tournament begins on Sunday in Paris, and ITV will screen live coverage and highlights of the event for the first time.
According to MediaWeek the deal was negotiated by agencies Drummond Central and Republic of Media, with the former set to make the egaming operator’s idents for the broadcasts.
The deal increases Bet365’s sponsorship portfolio, after it signed a three-year shirt-sponsorship agreement with English Premier League football club Stoke City.
Earlier this week the operator was one of four to be awarded an egaming licence by the Schleswig-Holstein interior ministry, along with bwin.party, bet-at-home and Tipico.
It is the second partnership between an egaming company and a tennis body in the past fortnight, after sports data service provider Sportradar signed a deal with the International Tennis Federation to secure exclusive distribution rights for live data on selected tournaments.
