Bet365 in Stoke City shirt sponsorship deal
No. 1 eGR Power 50 operator replaces Britannia as main shirt sponsor for Premier League club.
Bet365 has been named as the new shirt sponsor of English Premier League football club Stoke City after signing a three year deal.
The operator replaces the Britannia Co-Operative Bank on the front of the club’s home and away shirts, although the financial institution retains naming rights to the club’s stadium. Britannia has sponsored the club for the past 15 years. Stoke City CEO Tony Scholes said: “The club is already hugely indebted to the support from bet365 and its owners, the Coates family.”
Stoke City chairman Peter Coates is the father of bet365 co-CEOs Denise and John Coates. Denise Coates CBE (pictured) said of the deal: “It is a perfect fit for us as a Stoke-on-Trent-based company with a global reach and international markets to become shirt sponsor of our local Premier League club.
“It also further demonstrates our long term commitment to the club.” Bet365 already has an agreement in place to sponsor advertising boards around the Britannia Stadium.
Last week The Sunday Times named Peter and Denise Coates on its latest Rich List, with the duo the highest-placed representatives from the egaming industry and 92nd richest overall in the UK.
eGaming Review carried out an exclusive interview with Denise Coates CBE at the end of last year, the first part of which can be found here.
