Bgo recruits Dan Bilzerian for new £15m campaign
Fresh marketing drive will once again feature Austin Powers actor Verne Troyer in ads for bgo casino brand founded by Richard Skelhorn (pictured)
Online casino operator bgo Entertainment has recruited another famous face as part of a new £15m marketing drive following the success of its Mini-Me inspired ad campaign earlier this year.
From Q4 this year, professional poker player and renowned playboy Dan Bilzerian will appear in a series of TV and online ads for the brand, which regularly features in eGaming Review‘s Power 50 list.
Bilzerian is famed for his lavish lifestyle, much of which he shares with thousands of fans on social media networks such as Instagram where he boasts 4.5 million followers.
Bgo co-founder Richard Skelhorn said the investment in marketing was a crucial part of firm’s growth strategy. Last month he sold a 33% stake in bgo to gaming supplier Playtech for £10m.
Earlier this year eGR reported that Mini-Me actor Verne Troyer was set to appear as a character within bgo’s range of casino games and front a TV marketing campaign.
“Bringing Verne to the bgo brand made a real step change in our business,” Skelhorn said.
“This year’s addition of Dan Bilzerian is very exciting and provides us a real opportunity to do something very different in the space, to continue to grow the brand internationally and appeal to a wider audience.”
Skelhorn, who also founded affiliate Casino Choice, sold his Mandalay Media business “ which includes the Costa Bingo brand “ to Toronto-based Intertain Group earlier this year.
