Bgo targets casino growth with Mini Me deal
Costa Bingo owner will feature Austin Powers actor Verne Troyer in a series of ads for bgo casino brand
Bingo and casino operator bgo Entertainment is launching a new marketing campaign for its casino brand featuring Mini-Me actor Verne Troyer.
Troyer, who shot to fame in the Austin Powers films, will feature in a series of television adverts and appear as a character within bgo’s range of casino games.
The deal comes just a month after bgo unveiled a big budget marketing campaign for its bingo brand Costa featuring former Spice Girl Mel B and signed a six-month deal to become sponsor of Sky Sports News’ Through the Night programme.
Troyer takes on the character of a disgruntled casino boss, who interacts with players and reacts to their activity on the site.
Bgo founder and CEO Richard Skelhorn told eGaming Review the new campaign is designed to stand out from the crowd in a busy and competitive online casino market.
“We’re not just using Verne as famous face but as a character players can actually engage with and as a crucial part of our CRM strategy, so it’s something quite different to what other operators have done,” he said.
The new Costa Bingo campaign launched in January, with the first ad featuring a 200-foot tall former Spice Girl Melanie B towering over the London skyline.
