Sportech will not replace outgoing COO
Online horserace wagering operator will not replace Ian Hogg as the company has "moved on" in the areas that he was involved in
Sportech will not fill the role of chief operating officer of its consumer facing business left vacant by Ian Hogg, who left the company last month after more than three years to join gambling crowdfunding company GamCrowd.
Sportech CEO Ian Penrose (pictured) confirmed to eGaming Review that the UK-based online and land-based horserace wagering operator would not be filling the role as the business had “moved on” in the areas that Hogg was involved in.
Penrose highlighted the appointment of social gaming veteran and former Slingo boss Rich Roberts, who joined Sportech last year to head up its digital business stateside. He also said its football pools had a strong managing director in Conleth Byrne.
Sportech recently dumped its UK-facing gaming product Vernons, and is focused on expanding its business in the US market, where it holds the rights to process all online horserace wagers in the state of Connecticut.
The London-based firm is also set to enter the fray in New Jersey, having signed a deal to supply the Resorts Casino in Atlantic City with a real-money gaming platform through its SNG Interactive joint venture with NYX Interactive.
