UK media giant signs Dab Gaming for social bingo launch
Northern & Shell will launch OK! Magazine-branded mobile bingo in Q2 with more games to follow
The owner of some of the UK’s leading media brands including the Daily Express, Daily Star and OK! Magazine is entering the social gaming market in partnership with Dab Gaming.
B2B content supplier Dab, founded by former Mfuse CEO and Cashcade FD Geoff Read, will initially supply Northern & Shell with its freemium bingo game Bingo Dab and there are plans to add social casino products later in the year.
The first launch, due in Q2, will be an OK! Magazine-branded version of the multi-player bingo game which will be heavily promoted within the celebrity news publication, as well as Northern Shell’s other titles and websites.
The product will be available across tablet and smartphone devices from Google Play and Apple’s App Store.
BetVictor launches new multi-sport TV campaign
BetVictor has launched a series of new television adverts aimed at heightening awareness of the operator’s non-football offering ahead of this week’s Cheltenham Festival.
The three adverts, created by London-based agency VCCP, mark the return of long-term BetVictor character Maurice, played by comedian and actor Paul Kaye, and will screen across satellite and terrestrial TV channels.
Each advert focuses on a different sport and features Maurice portraying a range of sportsman while facing number of general knowledge questions from a quizmaster played by comedian Paul Garner.

PokerStars rolls out Evolution live casino offering
PokerStars has bolstered its online casino product with the launch of live casino games, the firm revealed this week.
The Evolution Gaming-powered platform offers live dealer versions of roulette, blackjack, baccarat and casino hold’em.
PokerStars said live casino had been made available in “many” of its global markets after the company first rolled out the offering in Spain last month.
888 begins search for new UK PR agency
888 is on the hunt for a new PR agency to help shape and deploy its marketing strategy in the UK.
The firm kicked-off the process last week and it marks the first time the online gaming giant has looked to retain an agency since it split with Frank PR back in 2006.
888 chief operating officer Itai Frieberger confirmed the firm’s search but said a new agency wouldn’t necessarily result in a big shift in marketing strategy.
GamCrowd launches £1.5m start-up investment fund
Egaming crowdfunding platform GamCrowd has teamed-up with UK fund manager Innvotec in order to “mend the broken route” to market for egaming start-ups and raise as much £1.5m in early stage investment.
The GamCrowd 2015 SEIS Fund, launched yesterday, is the first Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) aimed at the gambling sector and encourages investment by providing investors with a number of tax benefits.
SEIS funds enable investors to claim tax relief on investments of up to £100,000 per year, while a capital gains tax exemption applies upon exit and there is also loss relief available should a portfolio company fail.
