BoyleSports plots 2016 Asia launch
Operator in process of building Asia management team ahead of "significant market launch" early next year
BoyleSports has set its sights on the Asian market and is in the process of assembling a leadership team to oversee its entry early next year, its commercial director Brendan Hughes has told eGaming Review.
Speaking to eGR, Hughes said the firm could use its operational hub in Manila as a base for its Asia team and had already held “fruitful discussions” with a number of potential hires.
“One rationale of establishing a base in Manila back in 2013 was to give us a natural launch pad for a future Asian-facing product launch,” Hughes said.
“Currently the operation centre there is supporting the European business and we are very satisfied with how that is progressing. As we now look to develop an Asian-facing operation, it of course makes sense for us to consider basing that in Manila,” he added.
Hughes said the operator would wait until its leadership team is in place before deciding on which countries it would target and how the product would be branded but was hopeful of a “significant market launch” in early 2016.
The news comes soon after BoyleSports opened a marketing-focused hub in Gibraltar, having been granted an operating licence from the local regulator in April.
Last week eGR revealed the office had been boosted by a trio of senior hires, which included the arrival of Mfuse founder Marcus Wareham as head of product marketing.
