Paddy Power 'mischief champion' Dromey departs
Harry Dromey leaves the Irish bookmaker after two years to join UK broadcaster Channel 4 as group marketing manager
Paddy Power’s ‘mischief champion’ Harry Dromey has departed the firm to join UK TV broadcaster Channel 4 as group marketing manager, the Irish bookmaker has confirmed.
Dromey was responsible for some of Paddy Power’s more controversial marketing stunts during his two year tenure, including its ‘Go Team Europe’ Ryder Cup campaign presented by UKIP leader Nigel Farage and the World Cup 2014 campaign featuring Stephen Hawking.
Dromey joined Paddy Power back in July 2013 as mischief champion where he also acted as brand manager for bingo, leading the team behind the operator’s Lucky Pidgeon campaign.
Earlier this month Paddy Power unveiled its ‘You’re Welcome’ ad campaign ahead of the start of the European football season, the first under new chief marketing officer Gav Thompson.
The news comes just weeks after the operator confirmed it was close to completing a major restructuring of its global workforce which had seen 29 employees leave the firm.
