Paddy Power restructuring sees 29 staffers depart
Irish bookmarker close to completing review of global workforce which revealed duplication in a number of roles
Paddy Power is close to completing a major restructuring of its global workforce which has so far resulted in the departure of 29 employees from its Dublin and London offices, eGaming Review has learned.
The Irish operator has moved to streamline its 5,000 strong work force in recent months after an internal review revealed a number of employees were doing the same job.
The affected roles include positions in retail, online, and product and technology, with the majority of redundancies coming from its Dublin base.
According to the firm, those working in duplicate jobs were offered alternative roles within the bookmaker, however, 29 of those affected by the reshuffle decide to take voluntary redundancy.
“We have set out a clear strategic direction for our business which is more focused than ever,” a Paddy Power spokesman told eGaming Review.
“To set us up for success, we’re now aligning our structure and teams to ensure we have the best opportunity of delivering our strategy and enabling us to focus on our top priorities,” the spokesperson added.
The restructuring is expected to be completed in the next month, and the spokesperson said Paddy Power was still looking to grow its workforce with “nearly 100 jobs open at any given time”.
