Betsafe signs Manchester City sponsorship as UK push gathers momentum
Betsson brand becomes betting partner of English Premier League football club’s men’s and women’s teams, appoints new marketing agency
Betsafe has fired a warning shot to its UK rivals after becoming the official betting partner of English Premier League football club Manchester City.
The Betsson-owned sportsbook will be promoted via betting kiosks, fan activations at the club’s Etihad Stadium, access to exclusive behind the scenes footage, LED advertising around the ground and a presence on the club’s website.
The agreement covers both the men’s and women’s teams while the two parties said they would work closely together in order to devise innovative ways to strengthen the relationship.
The deal represents something of a coup for Betsafe, which is a relative newcomer to the UK market having only invested in marketing the brand in recent months.
Partypoker begins ecology overhaul
Partypoker has today rolled out the “most significant” set of changes to its player ecosystem yet as the bwin.party brand looks to “level the playing field” and attract more casual players.
The changes, first announced by eGaming Review at the start of the month, include restricting the use of tracking software such as HUDs, seating scripts and the sharing of hand histories.
The overhaul will complete in two stages; from today players waiting to join a cash game will join the room-wide waiting list and will be randomly placed when a seat matching their preference is available.

Operators in traps for new BAGS streaming service
UK-facing bookmakers are clamouring to offer a new greyhound racing streaming service which could help boost turnover during the quieter morning and afternoon betting periods.
The service, which went live this morning with bet365 one of the first to integrate, comes after the Bookmakers’ Afternoon Greyhound Service (BAGS) teamed-up with suppliers SIS and Sport Mediastream to provide data and pictures of British afternoon greyhound races to online operators for the very first time.
The deal means online operators, who had until now been limited to an audio BAGS service, will be able offer up to 28,000 afternoon greyhound races each year via desktop, mobile or tablet.
PokerStars rolls casino products out across Europe
PokerStars has bolstered its online casino offering with the launch of slots in Spain and live casino in Italy as part of ongoing plans to broaden its market share in the vertical.
Stars said the launch of slots in Spain “significantly expands” the variety of games available to players who previously only had access to roulette and blackjack.
“Slots are the most popular game on PokerStars globally, and we are happy to now offer some of the most popular titles in the world to Spanish players,” Sam Hobcraft, PokerStars director of casino, said.
Betgenius and Racing UK deal targets emerging markets
Betgenius has been granted the rights to distribute pictures and data from Racing UK to new and emerging territories in Europe, South America, Asia and Africa.
In addition to providing the capacity for live-picture streaming, Betgenius will also offer end-to-end, automated horseracing trading solutions for its sportsbook clients in these regions.
Although the pictures have sometimes been available in these markets, presenting horseracing as a betting product has not always been possible, Betgenius CEO Mark Locke said.
