Ladbrokes digital director Andrew Bagguley steps down
Bagguley leaves Ladbrokes six months into role, operator appoints former Playtech man Nick Zajdel as his successor
Ladbrokes digital director Andrew Bagguley (pictured) has left the firm and has been replaced by director of commercial operations Nick Zajdel, eGaming Review has learned.
The departure of Bagguley comes just six months into his role as digital chief, having initially joined the firm as head of mobile in late 2013.
Ladbrokes said Bagguely had stepped down to pursue other opportunities and was thanked by chief executive Jim Mullen for his work, which included overseeing the operator’s recent desktop switch to Playtech’s mobile Mobenga platform.
Bagguley’s replacement Zajdel joined Ladbrokes from Playtech in 2013 and has played a key role within the operator’s digital team, primarily leading its multi-channel operation.
BoyleSports adds CTO to head of trading hire
BoyleSports has confirmed former Ladbrokes head of football David Burgin will become the Irish operator’s new head of trading in a double hire which has also seen the appointment of a new chief technology officer.
Last week eGaming Review revealed Burgin had quit Ladbrokes in favour of a move to BoyleSports and a spokesperson for the firm later told eGR Burgin would replace former head of trading Jonathan Wright when he begins his new role in January.
Burgin will relocate from London to Dundalk where he will join another new recruit in the shape of chief technology officer Sean Convery, who is set to join the firm next month from Irish telecommunications company Digiweb Group.
PMU’s online marketing director departs
Pari Mutuel Urbain’s (PMU) online marketing director Kuider Akani has left after seven years at the Paris-based operator, eGR has learned.
In his role as online marketing director, Kuider was responsible for all desktop and mobile marketing activities including SEO, SEM and affiliation, managing a team of over 25 people working in various digital marketing roles.
He originally joined PMU as internet business development director in 2008 and also held the role of online acquisition director.
SIS has appointed its former operations director Brent Dolan to the newly created role of head of horse racing content following a three-year absence from the company.
Dolan, who previously worked at SIS for 26 years, left the firm in 2012 to work for Totepool as director of racecourse operations.
“I’ve seen SIS go from a newly-formed company to the betting and racing industry’s foremost data and pictures provider,” Dolan said,
“It is now forging an exciting new phase of digital innovation and international expansion. I can’t wait to get started,” he added.
