PMU's online marketing director departs
Kuider Akani left the operator last week following seven years at the France-facing operator
Pari Mutuel Urbain’s (PMU) online marketing director Kuider Akani has left after seven years at the Paris-based operator, eGaming Review has learned.
In his role as online marketing director, Kuider was responsible for all desktop and mobile marketing activities including SEO, SEM and affiliation, managing a team of over 25 people working in various digital marketing roles.
He originally joined PMU as internet business development director in 2008 and also held the role of online acquisition director.
Akani, who vacated the role last week, originally joined PMU in October 2008 from telecommunications firm Telecom Italia where he worked for more than a year as head of B2C marketing.
Prior to Telecom Italia he also held a number of marketing roles at companies such as Dutch multinational bank ING Direct France, Computer Sciences Corporation and French banking and financial services firm Société Générale.
He will be replaced by PMU’s current head of digital marketing Julie London over the next few days.
Akani played a key role in the creation of PMU’s new multi-channel advertising campaign, which was launched as part of the firm’s two-year strategic modernisation plan, featuring advertising across print media, web, social networks and TV.
News of Akani’s exit from PMU follows the appointment of Samuel Loiseau as the operator’s new head of marketing earlier this year who was hired as a replacement for its previous marketing chief Cyrille Giraudat.
Giraudat left PMU in December after a 10-year tenure as head of marketing to join car rental firm Europcar.
