Ladbrokes launches new football-focused TV ad campaign
Former footballers Chris Kamara and Ally McCoist return for series of five adverts with first to debut tomorrow
Ladbrokes is launching a series of television adverts focusing on its football and digital products, with the first debuting tomorrow promoting its Edit My Acca tool.
The series of five adverts, designed in conjunction with media agency The Moment, sees the return of former footballers Chris Kamara (pictured) and Ally McCoist, who both starred in Ladbrokes’ previous TV campaign.
The first advert is set in a café and features Kamara playing a number of roles, including a female waitress and a group of builders.
The ad plays on Kamara’s âunbelievable’ catchphrase, related not only to his many characters but also Ladbrokes’ Edit My Acca product, which enables customers to de-select legs from in-play accumulators.
During the 30-second ad, Kamara’s numerous characters offer a Ladbrokes mobile customer advice on how to remove a losing leg from his open bet.
Ladbrokes CMO Kristof Fahy said he was “excited” by the ad which sees the operator have “fun with our hugely popular ambassadors”.
“Kammy and Ally are instantly recognisable and these new adverts will help to showcase Ladbrokes’ top football offers and the quality of our digital products,” Fahy added.
Ladbrokes has invested heavily in football related marketing over the past 18 months, including major sponsorship deals with the English Football Association, Scottish Professional Football League and The Football Association of Ireland.
Upon taking the Ladbrokes CEO role last year, Jim Mullen said he wanted Ladbrokes to become the number one choice for football punters.
