Poker pro Phil Ivey will launch a branded daily fantasy sports (DFS) site after striking a deal with B2B platform supplier iTEAM Network. [private]
Ivey, widely considered as one of the worldâs top poker players, said he had been âreviewing the evolution of DFS closelyâ both as a fan and potential operator.
âOver the past few years I’ve been looking for more ways to share with fans my perspective on daily fantasy sports,â Ivey said.
âI was honored to have multiple options but iTEAM’s focus on compliance and the core technology, along with the leadership of Gabe Hunterton (iTEAM CEO), ultimately made it a pretty easy decision.â
iTEAM Network is headquartered in Las Vegas and has an office in Florida, and has built its B2B platform with regulation and compliance in mind.
Chief exec Gabe Hunterton said there is a large cross-over between DFS players and poker players, and that adding the Iveyâbranded skin would increase network liquidity and prize pools.
âThere is no elite-level individual that fans want to follow and learn from more than Phil Ivey.
âPhil’s team engaged in extended due diligence, which we welcomed in light of our commitment to conservative regulatory practices and great user experiences,â he added.
The site is set to launch next month with an aggressive marketing plan already underway.
