DraftKings launches responsible gaming campaign with The Miz and Tony Hawk
Pro wrestler joins skateboarding legend to spearhead ‘Practice Safe Bets’ ad campaign
DraftKings is set to launch a new responsible gaming ad campaign featuring The Miz and Tony Hawk to coincide with its greater ramp-up around the 2022 NFL season.
The campaign, dubbed ‘Practice Safe Bets,’ will leverage The Miz, a professional WWE wrestler, and skateboarding legend Hawk as it strives to promote safe play during one of the busiest betting periods of the year.

“Responsible gaming advertising is a tremendous opportunity to reach DraftKings players in a fun and educational way,” said DraftKings CMO Stephanie Sherman.
“We chose The Miz and Tony Hawk for the Practice Safe Bets campaign because of their extensive fan bases and because their personalities will break through the noise to reinforce why using responsible gaming tools is so important.”
The campaign, partly inspired by the popular ‘The More You Know’ public-service announcements from the 1990s, will include two commercials featuring a retro theme.
Hawk, adorned in his trademark helmet and kneepads, will reinforce the deposit and time limits available on the DraftKings app – underscoring the proactive safety measures that all users are able to leverage – while The Miz will be used to amplify the app’s ‘cooling off’ features.
Decked out in a metallic costume, The Miz will look to drive home the point that it’s ‘cool to cool off’ from betting.
In other words, there’s no bad reason to take a break from betting – be it due to a personal issue, a string of bad beats or simply a need to disengage for a period of time.
The commercials, which were produced by DraftKings’ creative and media agency VaynerMedia, will air on both TV and radio as well as across DraftKings’ social media channels throughout the fall.
