DraftKings adds craps to suite of online casino products

DraftKings is adding to its complement of online casino products with the imminent launch of DK Craps. The product will first launch in New Jersey, with Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia to follow pending regulatory approval. The online craps game, which is exclusive to DraftKings and built in-house, is the latest addition to a suite of 494 existing online casino games offered by the Nasdaq-listed operator. DK Craps was constructed to mirror the popular casino offering, as it allows players to make multiple bets with one tap. Other features include permitting players to roll the dice in whatever direction they choose, and enabling them to keep their bets on the table following a winning roll. DK Craps will also feature in-game tutorials and on-screen help as additional tools for players to leverage.

“As the most realistic craps game on the market, we are excited to offer a premier online experience within our top-rated casino product,” said DraftKings VP of igaming Jason March. “Craps was a challenging game to develop given the seemingly endless paths players can take, so I could not be prouder of our internal teams taking on this game development to deliver an authentic experience.” DraftKings, like many online betting operators, has placed an emphasis on developing its igaming vertical, which provides iterative opportunities for developers as well as higher-margin products than sports betting. Since September 2019, the Boston-based firm has launched 50 proprietary games, including around a dozen versions of blackjack. As of March, in-house titles accounted for more than half of the $14.2bn gambled on DraftKings’ online casino. For the month of April in New Jersey, DraftKings, through its partnership with Resorts Digital, accounted for the lion’s share of the $19.6m in igaming revenue generated on Resorts’ interactive license.
