Zeal COO to depart
Susan Standiford leaves lottery operator to “mentor the next generation of tech superstars"
Zeal’s chief operating officer (COO) Susan Standiford is to step down from her role at the end of August, the lottery-betting operator has announced.
Standiford, who joined Zeal in May 2015, has reportedly made the decision to dedicate more time to her non-executive directorship, advisory positions and start-up investments.
Over the last three years, Standiford oversaw the transformation of Zeal’s technology platforms as the operator internationalised with launches in Norway and the Netherlands.
COO responsibilities will now be split between Zeal’s existing leadership team, including current CEO Helmut Becker.
Becker said: “I’d like to thank Susan for her invaluable contribution to the group over the last three years.
She turbo-charged our technology capability while at the same time reducing its cost, and launching our new primary lottery products into two new international markets.
“I wish her much luck in her future endeavours.”
Standiford, who spoke extensively to EGR Technology in January this year, added: “It has been a tough decision to leave Zeal but the time is now right for me to focus on my other interests and my work mentoring the next generation of tech superstars.
“I am incredibly proud of the great tech platform we have put in place, the innovative new lotteries we have launched, and the progress we have made in pursuing our vision to create a better world of lottery.”
