Winamax launches turbo sit-and-go poker product
New Espresso format features quick results and randomly assigned prize pools
Winamax has launched a high-speed Sit ‘N’ Go brand of poker, offering players high speed games with randomly assigned prize pools.
Players can enter by clicking on the ‘Espresso’ tab on the French operator’s website before selecting a buy-in ranging between 1 and 10. Players are then entered into a three-handed game, with the winner taking the entire prize within three minutes.
Games are randomly assigned to one of nine differing prize pools which range from double the size of the buy-in to 1,000 times, equating to a maximum pay out of 10,000 from a 10 buy-in.
Players compete against two opponents for double the buy-in more than 75% of the time, with players competing for four times the buy in around 15% of the time.
The prize pool rises to 20 times the buy-in or more just 1% of the time, while the chances of being assigned the maximum prize equate to approximately one in 20,000.
With an average prize for players competing on tables with a 1 buy-in being 2.79, the rake stands comparatively high at 0.021, or 7%.
The new product comes at a time when the French poker market continues to struggle. The latest figures released by French online gaming regulator ARJEL report a sixth consecutive quarter of decline in the total of active player accounts, with tournament revenues also falling.
