William Hill launches World Cup micro-site
UK operator releases stats-focused site 'Bet Nation' and signs ex-England manager Glenn Hoddle as its official blogger for the tournament
William Hill has launched a World Cup-focused betting and stats website that will break down how each region of the UK is betting on individual games of the tournament.
‘Bet Nation’ was unveiled yesterday and also features blogs, videos, sweepstake kits, an interactive wallchart and latest betting offers.
Each game will feature the latest odds which link to the operator’s main dot.com site and shows the updated stats and info graphics for how each UK region is betting on a particular match.
“The website is updated every 30 minutes and so will enable you to see in real-time the most popular results, scorers and correct scores on a national, regional and local scale,” Joe Crilly, William Hill spokesman, said.
“It will also be an incredibly handy resource, whether you are placing a bet or just want to see what fans near you are predicting ahead of the big game,” he added.
The operator has also signed-up former England manager Glenn Hoddle as its official World Cup blogger, writing a regular ‘City of Hod’ column for both Williamhill.com and its BetNation microsite.
“With my experience, knowledge and passion I look forward to giving genuine insights into the pressures of being England manager “ dubbed, The Impossible Job “ and maybe help William Hill’s punters win some money along the way,” Hoddle said.
Hoddle scored 88 goals in 377 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur, represented the national team 53 times and was England manager from 1996-99.
“Hoddle is at the absolute thick of the action “ he will be based in Rio for the tournament and knows everyone and everything you need to know,” Jem Maidment, head of public relations at William Hill Online, said.
