William Hill subsidiaries fined by Swedish authorities
Evoke Gaming and Mr Green fined a combined SEK1.45m for reporting failures
Evoke Gaming and Mr Green have become the latest operators to be fined by Swedish regulator Spelinspektionen. Citing a breach in “reporting obligations” to the Swedish Gambling Authority, Evoke Gambling received a fine of SEK450,000 (£36,210) while Mr Green was slapped with a SEK1m fine. The news comes just two weeks after Mr Green’s appeal against an SEK31.5m fine was rejected following AML and customer safety breaches. Evoke Gaming, which was acquired by Mr Green in 2017, is licensed to provide commercial online gaming and betting for sites in Sweden including williamhill.com, williamhill.se, redbet.com, bertil.com and mamamiabingo.com. The two companies are included in 888’s deal to purchase William Hill’s non-US business from Ceasars Entertainment. Both companies have confirmed they have implemented technical solutions to report the information required by the regulations to ensure that reporting methods are not infringed in the future. As well as a fine, both companies have received a warning pertaining to their future conduct.
