Sports betting affiliate Oddschecker has added a new âshakeânâbackâ functionality to its app, released in January this year, to help customers select a horse to back in a race. The function uses motion sensors in the iPhone to detect when it is being shaken and randomly picks a horse in a chosen race.

Gaming supplier Microgaming has released a new casino game simultaneously across all platforms, including its HTML5 mobile casino channel. The release is part of a plan by the supplier to have its titles deliver the same look and feel across all of its product platforms.

Paddy Power has embedded casino content provided by Realistic Games into its iPad sportsbook app, which the firm is hailing as an industry first. The Irish operatorâs app now features blackjack and roulette games alongside a userâs betslip, allowing them to place stakes on both sports and casino games simultaneously.
Betfair has added its new Price Rush feature to its mobile sportsbook in an attempt to grab more mobile market share. The feature leverages liquidity on the operatorâs betting exchange to boost prices on selected sporting events, enabling the company to beat its competitors on price. Betfairâs mobile sportsbook is increasingly important to the operator with more than 60% of its total sportsbook stakes made on mobile devices in the three month period ended 31 January 2014.
Metro Play launched its first native mobile casino iOS app with a launch on Android currently being contemplated. The app was developed in-house by Metro Playâs own development team and includes the full portfolio of casino games it has on its desktop site. The app is to be backed by a significant advertising campaign both on Facebook and in print, with parent company DMG Media also owning British national newspapers the Daily Mail and the Metro.
Former Danish monopoly Danske Spil partnered with sportsbook provider OpenBet and mobile solutions firm mkodo to release its first mobile sports betting app. Named Oddset, the HTML5 mobile web app was designed by mkodo and uses a sportsbook provided by Openbet. Oddset is the first mobile product on a long-term roadmap at Danske Spil, with other products expected to follow in the coming months.
