This weekâs news round-up includes Playtech launching a mobile sportsbook for Italian sports news site Gazzetta dello Sport and app updates from Oddschecker and Betfair
RCS Media, owners of Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, was revealed to be the âmajor Italian media brandâ that Playtechhas teamed-up with to supply a mobile sportsbook and casino. The products have launched under the GazzaBet brand and are now available to download. âThis is a landmark deal for Playtech and cements our position as the leading supplier of sports and gaming technology and services in regulated markets,â Shay Segev, COO at Playtech, said.
Betfair upgraded its fixed-odds sportsbook app with three new features this week including a new âfast betâ option that enables users to place a bet within two taps of the screen. Quick links to in-play events, next races and popular markets have been added to the home page, while the appâs football section has been changed to include links to in-play betting for upcoming matches. Elsewhere Sky Bet also upgraded its sports betting app, increasing its stability.
Sports betting affiliate Oddschecker released an update to its mobile app in order to bring it up to date with the firmâs new marketing drive. A new style has been added to the app and the affiliateâs previous marketing drive, featuring two characters named Inspector Odds and Checker, have been removed in favour of a sleeker design which was produced in-house. Big fixes and stability changes have also been rolled out.
Rival sports betting affiliate OLBG also upgraded its mobile app this week and reorganised several of its menus and categories in order to simplify the design of the app and customer journeys. A ânext raceâ category has also been added to the app while customers can now filer âHot Tipsâ and save their filters for the next time they open the app.
BetVictor launched a revamped virtual sports betting product on its mobile web site for the first time. The Inspired Gaming-powered product has undergone a complete redesign and features a new streaming media player, while the product has also been taken out of the in-play betting section and given a more prominent location on the website. âWe believe that we have achieved all [our] goals and the early feedback from customers has been highly complementary,â Eoin Ryan, head of sportsbook product at BetVictor, told sister publication eGaming Review.
