This weekâs news round-up includes Gala Coralâs new Roller-style casino app, LeoVegas planning a UK push and Gamzio launching its mobile freeplay games for real-money gaming
Gala Coral has launched a new iOS casino app, developed in partnership with Israeli software firm Playtech. The supplier had previously announced its intention to release a B2B Roller-style app this year and Coral has become the first UK operator to go live with the product. The app has âtilt and swipeâ features that make it similar to the Roller Casino app that Playtech worked with Paddy Power to release last year, and includes both roulette and blackjack games.
Sweden-based mobile casino firm LeoVegas has outlined plans to launch a multi-million-pound marketing campaign to help become a âleading mobile playerâ in the UK gaming market this year. Mobile marketing agency Somo has been contracted with media activity due to start in H1 2014, and partnerships with The Sun and The Mirror have already been announced. LeoVegas CEO Johan Styren said the launch was intended to shake things up in the UKâs mobile gambling market.
Social casino developer Gamzio has announced its intention to enter the real-money gambling space with its suite of mobile casino games available on the Apple App Store. The developer claims it is in negotiations with two âtop tierâ licensed egaming companies to adapt its current titles for real-money gaming, with company CEO Jason Deiboldt considering it a ânatural progressionâ for the company to move into the sector.
Israel-based egaming software supplier Playtech has bolstered its mobile casino portfolio through a partnership with Bulgarian developer Casino Technology (CT). Five of CTâs most popular titles will be integrated on Playtechâs casino games product suite. Playtech COO Shay Segev said addition of CT content would allow the company to âattract additional players across all platformsâ.
Sports betting firm Offsidegaming is to expand its mobile sportsbook into Uganda through its partnership with Worldstar betting. The mobile sportsbook supports the Opera Mini browser available on Blackberry, Android and iOS devices, with Offsidegaming CEO also announcing his intention to launch products in Nigeria and Ghana. âStepping in to the African market is a giant leap for us at Offside and we really canât wait to see it grow.â
