This week’s news round-up including new app launches from Metro Play and Gaming Realms, Ladbrokes moings to Mobenga and William Hill adding mobile payment options
William Hill has upgraded payment options on its mobile sports betting app to allow users to add payment methods and deposit without leaving the app. Alongside the traditional credit and debit card options the app now allows users to deposit using Skrill, PayPal, NETELLER and UKash as well as William Hill’s own CashDirect in-shop vouchers. Deposits can be accessed through a button on the homepage of the app with the user taken directly to the default deposit option.
BetVictor has updated its iOS app with the addition of live text updates on football matches and improved navigation in its horse racing section. Upcoming races are more prominently shown and user navigation between individual races and tracks has been improved. BetVictor have also added text updates for every in-play football match.
Metro Play, the gaming brand from the newspaper publisher, has revealed plans for a new mobile app and advertising campaign in the coming months. The DMG Media-owned firm is expanding its mobile-focused plans aimed at its core market of âurbanitesâ through the launch of its first native app created by the firmâs in-house development team. The app is currently awaiting approval from Apple before being released in the app store.
Mobile casino operator Jack Gold said its latest TV campaign has led to a 75% increase in active real money players. Ed Andrewes, CEO of Locus Gaming said he was pleased with the results from the saturated UK market. âWe didnât take the decision to do above the line advertising lightly as there is considerable expense associated with it,” Andrewes said.
The mobile gambling market will benefit from an additional 100 million mobile gamblers by 2018 driven by growth in regulated North America, a report conducted by mobile telecomms research firm Juniper Research has predicted. Ladbrokes has relaunched its mobile sportsbook on the Mobenga platform with both iOS and Android apps now on the new platform. The app release comes as part of a phased roll-out of the platform, with various features to be added in the coming weeks. Ladbrokes recently entered into a partnership with Chelsea Apps Factory to accelerate its mobile development.
Gaming Realms is gearing up for the launch of new real-money mobile apps following the acquisition of bingo affiliate and marketing agency Quick Think Media (QTM) for £2.2m. Gaming Realms operates Bingo Godz, social casino and bingo company beJig and mobile casino operator Alchemy Bet and QTM co-founder Tom Gooding said the group would be looking at a string of new launches in the new year with a focus on mobile.
