Tombola to build new ?5m UK headquarters
Online bingo brand plans to unveil a new 25,000 sq ft "campus" next to its current base in Sunderland
Online bingo operator tombola has announced plans to build a new ?5m headquarters adjacent to its current base in the north east of England.
The project will see the firm work with Newcastle-based design team Ryder Architects to create a new “tombola campus”, on the banks of the River Wear, in Sunderland for its 300-plus staffers.
“We want to create the best working environment for our team and hope to build the best office campus in the region,” tombola chief executive, Phil Cronin, said.
“Originating and developing the best gaming software means attracting and retaining the best talent in a growing and highly competitive market. Providing world-class facilities for our team – and future employees – will help us achieve this.”
Planning application has been submitted to Sunderland council and once approved, could see the new 25,000 sq ft building at Wylam Wharf completed by September or October next year.
“We have created a great working environment that reflects the culture of tombola and the importance they place on their people,” Ronnie Graham of Ryder said.
“It also creates a strong visual presence to complement and echo the rich industrial heritage of the area,” Graham added.
Tombola currently has offices in Sunderland, Gibraltar, Milan and Madrid.
