TOMBOLA BINGO has signed a sponsorship deal with British soap opera Emmerdale.
Countryside drama Emmerdale is one the UK’s biggest TV programmes, with an average of 6.5 million viewers.
Tombola, one of the world’s five biggest bingo businesses, is a new entrant in this year’s Power 50 leading operators. As well as running Tombola.co.uk, one of the biggest bingo websites, Tombola designed and set up the bingo site of Britain’s The Sun newspaper.
The deal with Emmerdale broadcaster ITV begins next month and will run until the end of January 2011. It includes broadcast sponsorship on the ITV1, ITV2 and ITV3 channels, as well as online sponsorship on the Emmerdale website.
Tombola chief executive Phil Cronin said: “Sponsoring Emmerdale, one of ITV’s leading brands, is a significant opportunity for Tombola. The show’s reach, the affection in which it is held and its values of drama, fun and community make it the ideal partner for our brand.”
Cronin described Emmerdale’s viewer demographic as “very complimentary to online bingo” and added that “affiliates are sure to benefit from the increased brand exposure the sponsorship will bring”.
Tombola’s affiliate marketing is done by Income Access.
