Tombola quick on the Pulse with new bingo game
Speed bingo product has nine games starting every few seconds as operator looks to target players "on the move"
Leading bingo operator tombola has launched a new rapid-play bingo variant aimed in part at boosting revenues from mobile and tablet users.
Pulse consists of nine quick-fire 36-ball games, each starting at staggered times with entries between 10p and £2, in order to significantly reduce player waiting times, which on other games can last for as long as four minutes.
Pulse has been released across all platforms, however, tombola said it expected the speedy nature of the product to appeal to customers which look to play when travelling.
“We’re constantly developing new games for our players and always try and listen carefully to what they want,” Katie Harbron, product manager at tombola, said.
“Our aim with Pulse was to provide players with a new game that’s quick to start and quick to play, even on the move, allowing it to fit around players’ lifestyles,” she added.
The games are set to the sound of a heartbeat which quickens as each ball is called in order to increase the tension, although players are able to switch the sound off.
The release of Pulse is the first tombola product that enables customers to play continuously with the operator having so far decided not follow competitors and offer slots or other online games.
Last year tombola placed number 35 in the eGaming Review Power 50 and also picked up the awards for social responsible and bingo operator of the year at the 2013 eGR Operator Awards.
