Tinder-inspired Bookee developers expand into casino
Built with "ease-of-use and simplicity" in mind, the start-up aims to offer a more "content-rich" experience
Swipe-to-bet app Bookee has announced the launch of its first online casino product, utilising the same tile-focused interface featured in its Tinder-inspired sportsbook.
London-based Bookee’s casino initially features content from Playtech-owned supplier Quickspin, with plans to add games from the likes of NYX and Evolution later this year.
Adam Kalmanson, Bookee co-founder and marketing lead, told EGR Intel the casino launch was just the first iteration of the company’s plan to offer a more “content-rich” product.
“We build everything with ease-of-use and simplicity in mind and I’m delighted that the casino ticks both of these boxes, and so are our customers,” Kalmanson said.
FSB Technology-powered Bookee, launched last year by former William Hill and 888 employees Kalmanson and Adam Wilson, also recently unveiled its native Android app in the Play Store.
“We made our Android app available earlier in the year but found the install process such a pain that we have barely been promoting it – if we find it a nightmare to install, we’re sure our customers will too,” he said.
“Google’s change of policy has been a long time coming and we’re happy to say that we can now offer the same quality of experience for our Android users as we have been doing for our iOS customers.”
The first wave of gambling apps went live in the UK, Ireland and French Google Play Stores earlier this month after Google officially dropped its ban on such apps in the store on Wednesday 2 August.
