Tau Gaming readies debut TV marketing campaign
Operator founded by ex-Metro Play MD targets expansion with first TV advert, new slots product and a move to a larger HQ
Former Metro Play MD Jamie Walters’ new egaming venture Tau Gaming is to launch its first TV marketing campaign next month, coinciding with the launch of a new slots product and expansion into a new offices.
The London-based operator’s debut TV advert for its SecretSlots brand, which launched in March, was created in collaboration with TV production company Koala Ltd and will air across multiple TV channels in September.
Speaking with eGaming Review, Walters said the ad aims to reinforce the online slots product’s core message of revealing secrets unavailable at other sites about the games to the players.
“It’s a continuation of the theme that we’ve got with the site in terms of providing secrets about games, bonuses, and information that they can’t get elsewhere,” Walters said.
“Our plan was always to be on telly with our first product so we’re really bang on plan and it is is very pleasing to be hitting the milestones we set ourselves,” he added.
The new TV advert will coincide with the launch of Tau Gaming’s third 888-powered egaming brand Slots Angel, featuring a new title character Archie who will be the focal point of all marketing communication.
“It’s the same content-led principle across our other products and we’re going to have a lot of good fun with that character through the marketing as we move forward,” Walters said.
“We’re on course with our top line product roadmap in terms of getting new products out there on a frequent basis with the same kind of focus around mobile,” he continued.
Tau Gaming also recently moved from its office in Farringdon to a larger facility based near Highbury and Islington after the operator’s staff headcount saw the company outgrow its original HQ.
eGR revealed in November that Walters had formed Tau Gaming, which is to initially focus on the UK market, in partnership with Gamesys’ former head of acquisition James Newman.
