Tatts Group rings the changes as senior duo depart
Operator brings in a new wagering COO to replace Barrie Fletton, while the firm's CFO also announces his departure
Tatts Group has appointed Tabcorp’s former international MD, Brendan Parnell, as COO of its wagering division as part of two senior personnel changes at the operator.
The Australian firm has hired Parnell to replace its outgoing wagering COO Barrie Fletton, who will leave the operator in November following a 24-year career at Tatts.
The new COO previously worked for rival betting business Tabcorp, where he worked for nearly 10 years as chief operating officer, media and international, and later as head of its international team.
“We are indeed fortunate in achieving an uninterrupted leadership transition, with Brendan joining my senior team to drive our UBET operation to the next level,” Tatt’s MD and CEO, Robbie Cooke, said.
“Brendan has the domain expertise, industry connections and leadership style which will lift our momentum from day one and I am delighted to have him on board,” Cooke added.
In other Tatts people news, the operator’s long-serving chief financial officer Neale O’Connell also plans to leave the firm next year to return to his hometown of Melbourne.
He has led the company’s financial team for the past three years and will pursue an opportunity in a non-related industry.
“It is disappointing to see Neale leave as he has been a key member of my executive team over the last three years, however I understand completely the attraction of returning home to Melbourne with his family,” Cooke added.
“We are fortunate, thanks in no small way to Neale’s efforts, to have a very strong and capable finance team in place with five months to identify a successor to ensure a seamless transition.”
