Swedish self-exclusion system update to be completed by May
The much-needed update is due to be completed by the end of May to improve UI
The Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA) has confirmed the updates to its self-exclusion system are expected to be complete in May.
Spelpaus.se is undergoing a major revamp to make the system more user-friendly and is using consumer feedback to help inform strategy.
Since its inception three years ago, the self-suspension system has 73,000 players signed up to it, with that figure continuing to rise.
This new update, which is set to be completed by the end of May, will have information and guidance on how to get help with gambling problems clearer to find on the site.
In addition, the ability to extend an ongoing suspension will also be available to citizens after it was heavily requested.
The ongoing work with the new update will not affect those already signed up to the system and there will also be no major changes for licensees.
Operators that hold a Swedish licence will still check against Spelpaus.se in the same way they currently do and use the same technical solutions as before. The Swedish Gambling Authority has said that licensees will receive the necessary information in due course.
