Swedish Bingo Association warned over RG failings
Operator’s website failed to display logos required by responsible gambling law when customers were logged out
The Swedish Bingo Association has been reprimanded by the Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA) for failing to adhere to its responsible gambling requirements. An investigation launched by the Swedish regulator found the operator’s website idrottensbingo.se failed to display several responsible gambling tools when customers were logged out of their accounts. The investigation found the Swedish Bingo Association failed to display logos for self-testing, deposit limits, login time counter and suspension from games. The operator also failed to display its licensee name and contact details in another infringement of the regulations. However, the logged-in version of the operator’s site did show all the logos related to its responsibility requirements. In a statement, the SGA said: “These circumstances are, according to the Swedish Gaming Inspectorate, mitigating and shows that there was no intention from Sweden Bingo Association’s organisation page not to follow the regulations or that it was about systematic shortcomings in the field of gambling responsibility. “In an overall assessment, the Swedish Gaming Inspectorate considers that the infringement relating to the logos is not to be regarded as serious, but is not either as insignificant or excusable. Against this background, a remark is one sufficient intervention for the two infringements in the case.”
