Svenska Spel extends Swedish Ice Hockey Association contract
State operator to prolong two-decade partnership with Swedish Ice Hockey until at least 2025
Svenska Spel has extended its existing 20-year partnership with the Swedish Ice Hockey Association to 2025 with an option for a further two years.
The new agreement, including the two-year extension option, is worth over SEK 200m (£17m) and will apply from 1 July 2019.
Svenska Spel CEO Patrik Hofbauer said: “Svenska Spel and the Swedish Ice Hockey Association have a long and successful story together.
“Through the extension of the agreement, we can continue to create the right conditions for Swedish hockey to continue their fine development.
“The collaboration enables us to participate in developing Swedish ice hockey all the way, from the very smallest in Tre Kronors Hockey School, to our popular national team at the women’s and men’s side,” he added.
A recent study from Swedish regulator Spelinspektionen showed that 60% of customers to have gambled over the last 12 months did so with Svenska Spel.
