Svenska Spel adds IGT cashless payment to VLTs
Swedish operator taps long-standing partnership to boost retail gaming and lottery process
Svenska Spel has onboarded IGT’s cashless payment method allowing customers to fund Video Lottery Terminals (VLT) from their mobile phones.
Using IGTPay via the IGT Intelligen system, players can use their mobile to register and log into to VLTs and deposit funds.
The technology taps into the existing Swish app, a mobile payments service widely used in Sweden and owned by the banks.
Players approve the transfer via their mobile and can begin playing VLT games within seconds.
Declan Harkin, IGT SVP and COO, said: “Svenska Spel is at the forefront of innovation with IGT’s cashless gaming solution. This groundbreaking technology introduces a contemporary consumer experience to land-based gaming in one of the most progressive societies in the world.”
Magnus Lannersund, director of VLT operations at Svenska Spel, added: “Launching IGT’s cashless product provides our players with a reliable, cutting-edge cashless solution that connects directly with the Swish mobile app, helping us drive efficiencies while responsibly advancing the player experience.”
