Stan James head of PR departs
Rory Jiwani leaves Stan James as firm launches TV ad campaign to push casino products
Stan James head of PR Rory Jiwani (pictured) has decided to leave the firm in order to focus on “other projects”, the operator has told eGaming Review.
Jiwani, who became the face of Stan James after regularly appearing on shows such as Channel 4 Racing and satellite channel AtTheRaces, left the firm at the end of December after spending three years with the bookie.
Speaking to eGR, a spokesperson for Stan James confirmed Jiwani’s departure, although added Jiwani may still work with the firm on “a few things” over the coming months.
“Rory has decided that after three years with StanJames.com it’s time to head on to other projects, and we wish him all the best,” the spokesperson said.
“In the longer term we will be seeking to replace Rory, but we’re in no immediate rush to do so,” the spokesperson added.
The news comes shortly after the operator re-launched its StanJames.com website while a television advertising campaign promoting its casino products hit the screens in the past fortnight.
“Our online casino and games channels have always been strong products, especially on mobile of late, so we’re giving them a good push over the coming months,” the spokesperson said.
“We’re already seeing good results after almost a week, so we’re really pleased with the progress we’ve made so far,” the spokesperson added.
Stan James has been the subject of M&A speculation over the past few months, with eGR reporting the firm to have held discussions with a number parties regarding a potential sale of the business.
Last year the Gibraltar-based firm cut staff numbers after embarking on two redundancy rounds which resulted in members of its sportsbook trading and product development teams leaving the firm.
