Sportsbet launches ATM card for winnings
Operators follows Ladbrokes Australia with branded cash card giving instant access to withdrawls
Paddy Power’s Australia-facing brand Sportsbet has unveiled a branded ATM card enabling its customers to instantly access their winnings as cash.
Sportsbet customers can now transfer their winnings to their Sportsbet Cash card on all of the bookie’s platforms, including the mobile app, and withdraw at any ATM or use the card via EFTPOS terminals anywhere in Australia.
The move follows in the footsteps of Ladbrokes Australia, which launched a similar product back in March allowing customers to withdraw up to AU$1,000 a day from ATMs.
Typically Australian gamblers must wait at least one business day or up to 48 hours if they transfer on the weekend, leading to many sticking to retail betting outlets.
“Our 1.8 million customers love the superior value for money and better range of betting markets they get from Sportsbet – but many of them still love the feel of real cash in their hand – now they can have the best of both worlds,” Cormac Barry, Sportsbet CEO, said.
Sportsbet is the largest corporate online bookie in Australia and has demonstrated impressive growth in the years since it was acquired by Paddy Power.
Paddy Power revealed this week that Sportsbet’s net revenues were up 41%, stakes up 21% and active customers up by 37% with the numbers boosted by a “strong performance” at the recent racing Spring Carnival.
