Sportradar signs eSports data deal
Sports data company will supply suite of data and integrity services to eSports operator ESL
Sports data company Sportradar has joined forces with eSports operator ESL in a bid to get a foothold in the fledgling market.
Under the deal, Sportradar will develop a full range of data and integrity products for ESL, including the distribution of real-time match data and live scoring.
In addition, Sportradar’s fraud detection system will be used to monitor 450 betting operators around the world in order to provide ELS with insight into any suspicious betting activity.
Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl said eSports was the fastest growing sport globally, and that his firm was “excited” to form a partnership with ESL.
“By partnering with us, they have made a clear statement that they want to be the eSports innovator with the most sophisticated, engaging and beneficial relationship with their data and those interested in it.
“We are embarking on some exciting times, with CS:GO, Dota 2 and other titles coming online in the next few months and we are proud ESL chose us as their partners for the future,” he added.
The news comes just days after Betway announced it had struck a deal with ESL to sponsor its UK premiership having recently launched a dedicated eSports betting microsite.
