Sportradar launches Formula 1 in-race betting markets
Live data available on more than 22 in-race markets with practice and qualifying events to follow
Sportradar has launched in-race betting markets for the forthcoming 2020 Formula 1 championship which begins in Australia this weekend.
Bettors will now be offered live odds on more than 22 in-race markets initially, with practice and qualifying session events to be added as the season progresses.
Live data taken directly from the track on race day will be made available from each of the 22 rounds in this year’s F1 World Championship. The launch comes following an earlier exclusive data rights agreement between Sportradar and media rights holder ISG signed in August 2019.
Sportradar currently offers markets on winner, podium and top 10 finishes, along with constructors’ championship betting markets. The supplier also offers markets on group winners, driver classification, race head-to-heads and pole position head-to-heads.
Sportradar MD David Lampitt hailed the “groundbreaking” move, claiming it would increase both engagement and the sport’s fan base.
“Formula 1 is one of the world’s most recognised sports brands with unique commercial opportunities that continue to expand,” said Lampitt.
“Introducing live in-race betting opportunities is a starting point to unlocking those opportunities and increasing interest and engagement among fans worldwide,” he added.
The 2020 F1 season was due to begin this weekend with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne but the race has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
